JOHN V. WHYTOCK - FINE ART:
From the Treasure Cave at Aladdin to Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, the amazing art works of J. Whytock have enhanced “The Strip” in Las Vegas for nearly a decade. Whytock has been commissioned by architectural and interior design firms to decorate the top resorts in the world. The Venetian, The Monte Carlo, The Luxuor, The Excalibur, and Caesar’s Palace are among the world famous hotels and casinos that display more than 200 of J. Whytock’s murals and paintings. He is now creating murals for the Bass Pro shops throughout the country.

The considerable talents that propelled him to number one status in the commercial art field are also establishing his place in the world of fine art. This accomplished artist has created innovative and exciting new photo-realistic, impressionistic, and plein-air paintings of the California desert. Originals and prints are being marketed throughout the West Coast, and his “marble-ized” works (two samples above) were featured at the New York Art Expo in February 2004.

In Twentynine Palms, J. Whytock is best known for his two murals: “The Dirty Sock Camp” (1996) and “Desert Gold Mining Days” (1998), the latter created with three-dimensional artist Terry Waite on the front wall of the Twentynine Palms Chamber of Commerce building in the Joshua Park Mining Town.
